Somatic Tango

Somatic Tango is a series of experiential workshops for tango dancers exploring connection, attention, and awareness in partner dance.

We use simple movement and partner exercises to explore how we perceive, respond, and connect in real time, without focusing on steps or choreography.

The work is invitational and accessible to all levels. It’s not about doing tango “correctly,” but about noticing what happens in the body, the connection, and the space between partners.

Through this approach, dancers often discover more choice, ease, clarity, and presence in their social dancing.

What happens in the workshops

In Somatic Tango workshops, we work with simple, guided individual and partner explorations exercises .

We explore attention, timing, responsiveness, and how connection is created moment by moment through movement and walking.

The focus is on noticing what is happening in real time, how you perceive your partner, how you respond, and how connection emerges in the interaction.

Our approach

Our workshops are invitational, experiential, and non-judgmental.

Rather than focusing on performance or doing things "right," we create space for exploration, choice, and awareness in movement and connection.

Participants are encouraged to engage at their own pace and according to their own experience.

What dancers might gain....

Tango is more than movement. It is a continuous process of listening, responding, adapting, and relating.

The way we connect with ourselves and with our partners can influence our sense of ease, clarity, and enjoyment on the dance floor.

Through somatic exploration, dancers may discover:

  • more ease in the embrace

  • clearer connection with partners

  • greater confidence in role transitions

  • healthier boundaries in partner dance

  • increased responsiveness and adaptability

  • less tension and overthinking

  • deeper attunement in connection

  • greater emotional resilience in social dancing

Receiving without collapsing

A workshop exploring receptivity, agency, and participation in partner dance. Through simple movement and partner exercises, we investigate the difference between responsiveness and compliance, and how following can remain active, grounded, and connected.

Role Fluidity and Embodied Perspective

A workshop exploring connection through the experience of both leading and following. Through role-switching and partner exercises, we investigate communication, adaptability, and how changing perspective can deepen awareness and empathy in the dance.

Let's Get in touch

As a somatic therapist, yoga teacher, and double-role tango dancer, I am passionate about the meeting point between body awareness and human connection.

Through Psykotango, I offer experiential tango workshops that explore how presence, attention, and nervous system regulation influence the way we relate, communicate, and connect through dance.

My work invites dancers to cultivate greater awareness, freedom, and authenticity in movement and partnership
